From 30th Ward Resident Patti:

"This is Scratchy she is totally my favorite cat, while I have several between my house and my feral colony at a separate location Scratchy is my total fave. Scratchy and I have a history she has been with me since she was a kitten with her brother that I called Itchy they were part of my feral colony and while I did try to bring them both in they didn't want anything to do with it and sadly a week after their first birthday I took Itchy to the vet and had to put him down as he was very sick and the vet said at best 3 days to live.

Scratchy and I became inseparable and I even tried to take her to the vet to make sure she didn't have the same disease that her brother did in which I wound up in the emergency room after I tried to put her in a cat carrier she scratched me very badly, but with all the antibiotics I had never got sick that year

February 2022 she was sick and I did get her to the vet in which I took her to two different vets which cost me around $1,500 but she was so worth it because of the bond that I have with her and after her follow-up visit in her carrier as I was driving I told her you're going home and I brought her to my house while it was an adjustment it worked out perfectly,  she's such a cuddle bug and more spoiled than she was outside and I love this cat with all my heart as I say she is my furry daughter. She likes to smile as you can see in her picture which is not photoshopped and she's also a big Kansas City Chiefs fan. She turned 12 on Jun 12th"

Johanna(2).jfif

From 30th Ward Resident Joy:

"This is our dog Johanna.  She is the best empty-nester dog.  We rescued her April 3, 2015, Good Friday.  Johanna was rescue transported from Clairborne County Tennessee and was such a scared little dog.

We love her because she is always so excited to see us when we come home. We can't imagine life without her.

This photo was taken in March of this year.  We think Johanna is 12 years old, now."
